Memorial Day

Going to see my Grandpa Glen and uncle Jeff's graves reminds me so much of memorial day when I was little. It seems every year we went to these graves then on to Grandma JB's house for a barbecue. We got back from NY Sunday morning and went straight to my parents house and on their agenda for the day was to go up to see the Williams graves. Nate and I joined them and it was so nice, plus we had nice weather unlike the real memorial day :(

The original Williams Crew

My aunts Holly and Terri
Mom and Dad :)

Me and Dad
(Nate was here he just had a severe allergy attack so took to the bench with our dogs)

The Happy Reunion

So we ARE in cali.. but have had Internet problems so no posts. True to my chronological mind though I will be updating in order of appearance in my life. Anyway....

After the terrible separation we decided it would be nice to have a little 'graduation trip' So we met in New York! It was so wonderful to finally see my husband again and what better place than NY?

I think time square was Nate's fav

Our first day we lunched at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill.. much to my disappointment! I was so excited to eat there and it was only okay food....

at least it looked pretty :)

Kabob anyone?

Or how about midnight Chinese food? (These food pics are for Jake and Becky... we love our food:))

Central Park! I didn't make it to central park last time I was in NY so it was a MUST on my list this time.

We took a little bike buggy tour around which I thought was a blast... Nate thought we got ripped off, oh well.

Mmm.. Strawberry fields with strawberry Popsicle!

You may say I'm a dreamer.... but I'm not the only one

Tribute to my papa... He served in the Eastern States mission and this was the mission home. We all have to check on it whenever we're in town.

Yankee's!!

I am officially a baseball team slut... I'm collecting different teams shirts and I really do feel bad about it... but I like souvenirs!

We has awesome seats, 2nd row.... from the back. But I am of the opinion to buy cheaper tickets so more $ for food!

Cotton candy anyone? Yes it is as good as you remember.

Lady Liberty

And thank you to the lady who took a picture of Nate me and the statue of liberty... wait she missed the statue.

ground zero

The Fire fighter tribute... don't worry Nate already made fun of my face. I couldn't smile in front of this... its a somber face.

Nate with the bery tall Rockefeller building behind him.

I love out little spontaneous trips we take. It's one of the most exciting part of our life... but because they're spontaneous they're usually short and we wind up marathon sight seeing. New York was that way and the last day we were there we were up by 7 to go see the statue of liberty and by 2 we were dead and just looking for somewhere to lay down. That's way Nate looks so pumped here! (yes he is sleeping in the NBA store on 5th Avenue)

One of Nate's all time favorite movies are the Home Alone ones.. so he was pumped to be at the Plaza

Our last night we went and saw Chicago! I loved it, I love the music to Chicago. Nate... not so much but it was a blast anyway. I mean, you can't go to New York and not see a show on Broadway. Our 'Happy Reunion' was a blast and I'm just glad that Nate got to come home with me after!

Poor little fella...

We finally decided it was time for Reford to be neutered. So I took him in Thursday morning and when I picked him up at 3 it was the saddest thing I've ever seen. My poor pup who is ALWAYS excited was so sad, drugged, and scared. The gave him the light bulb head thing so he wouldn't lick his wounds but it just scared him so he wouldn't move with it on. It was so sad I finally just took it off and monitored him. Well it seems now he's just fine but he looks so pathetic!

The St. George Stop

We stopped by St. George on our way back from Phoenix because Miss Gwyn had her ballet recital. It was quite the event, about five different songs that all had costume changes. Gwyn was quite efficient with dressing herself properly, singing along, as well as a superb bow. It culminated with "Be our Guest" in which the girls all carried in trays of cookies and invited their dads to sit on the blankets to share them.

Robyn and Bob picnicking with Gwyn. Bravo Gwyn for the wonderful performance!

Just a shot in the back with Tucker. We made several Target runs to see the Fancy Nancy stuff. I had such a nice visit... I love Robyn's kids their so fun and excited when nanny comes. PLUS... Robyn bought the Masterpiece version of Jane Eyre which wooed all of us, including Bob, both nights we were there.

On the road...

I actually quite like road trips and particularly the road to Phoenix. I just think this part of the world is amazing. Of course we took the scenic route to Phoenix and went through Page Arizona. On the way home though we took the northern rim I-89A to St. George. AND being the lovely travelers we are... we stopped by a Indian trading place and Lees Ferry.

The bridge that replaced Lees Ferry

Love love love the scenery

Still miss Nate

Phoenix

My husbandlessness began two weeks ago and it had been terrible terrible terrible. I hate not having a husband... but to lighten the blow I am living at my parents and my mom swept me away for a week to go visit her mom in Phoenix for mother's day and Robyn in St. George on the way home. It was a nice little trip but didn't make having Nate gone any easier. But at least I know now to never agree to a 3 week leave of absence from my husband.

I love Phoenix and have been visiting since I was about 2. My aunt and her sweet husband Felipe lived there and later my grandma joined them from Cheyenne. My uncle Felipe passed away a few years ago and my aunt moved to Oregon to be close to her kids. So my grandma who loved Phoenix has remained and thus the reason for out visit!

My uncle Felipe was an incredible man AND an incredible doctor. He was a neonatologist and had a lot of respect in the community. SO much that this facility for very sick children dedicated a garden in his name. They recently added on to the facility and had to move the garden so this is the new finished product.

His plaque is usually here but when we visited, it has been taken down for repairs.

On Mother's day we went to a lovely brunch at this nice hotel. It was yum. But here's my mom and grandma Billie.

Mom, me, and Billie

Happy Mother's Day

Me and my Mom :)

Me and grandma Billie... Thank you Grandma for our nice visit!

HUGE fish in the hotel... I remember them from when I was young and I think they've just gotten bigger.
