brigy's room, check!

look familiar?
well it should i had to transport brig's room to my new house!
only this room is smaller... and the trim isnt' a true white...
but it's brig's for real!
and
the first room complete in my new house!
can i even say how good that feels?
i didn't know until i finished hanging everything up this afternoon that i was in desperate need of having one of my projects complete.
so check mark by nursery
(except for maybe a valance to match the bedding?

don't mind his messy bookcase... it's still housing office books for the time being

now let's hope brigy has many restful, sleep all through the nights here
:)

overnight anniversary

oh goodness... what a fantastic evening we had!
nate isn't the best planner, like he doesn't plan ahead, but he is a fantastic 'on a whim' kind of guy. we had talked about just going overnight somewhere for our anniversary but no plans we're made. he had to work up in fort bragg wednesday morning at 7 which would mean leaving our house a little before 5 so he was throwing around the idea of spending the night up there. i liked the idea a lot but monday when i called him to lay some plans down for my week he just gave me my favorite "paige i don't know"
grr... i huffed and promptly called lisa to see if she'd drive to napa with me instead to go investigate a craigslist table. you see i didn't want to do these two outings in one day because it would be 4 hours of driving for poor mr brig.
well plans were made by me then tuesday rolled around and nate said we were going.

it's times like these that i just have to roll with things.
most always i'm glad i do.
like this time.
2 hours of driving, 1 of which my baby was not happy, and we found ourselves in a little haven.
fort bragg is a very small coastal town that is almost never ever sunny and lovely.
it just happened to be gorgeous the 12 hours we visited.

the best part of our whiming?
just driving till we find something good.
like the adorable little river inn.
the best part of the room was this porch and the fantastic view

we kept our door open all night listening to the crashing waves and letting the ocean breeze swim through our room.

this man was handsome as usual.
we had a fantastic dinner with a well behaved baby then turned around and had a fantastic breakfast.
really, swedish pancakes have never been better
mmmm....

nate woke up early and made a business call then came back for me and brig.
brig and i then made the long trek home.
the trek home was the hardest part. i think i've ruined brig's relationship with his car seat :(
but all in all well worth every minute. tuesday afternoon when i was thinking "is this going to be more of a hassle then it will be enjoyable?" i was dead wrong
very fun mr clark
and again
happy anniversary

love, your wife

lawn days

this is what we did saturday
(we sure needed it as you can see)

i don't know why but i am really excited to have to worry about a yard
and i also don't know why but i am self conscious of having the yard that lets the street down...
and our yard needed a little tlc
lawn hadn't been cut since we moved in and i may or may not have accidently/purposely turned off our sprinklers for a week?
come on... there's a lot to keep track of as a homeowner

oh and what was i doing while mr clark mowed the lawn you ask?
well a few weeks ago i did something i have never done before and i never intend to do again.
it was late...
i was the only one up... the tv was on... an infomercial came on... and it happened to have the tool of my dreams...
a 13 minute phone call later i presumed i was the owner of one of these awesome power washer hose attachments. presumed i say because the dang recording kept asking if i wanted a bagillion other things then abruptly ended with with "your package should arrive in 4-6 weeks" click.
i then sheepishly climbed into bed.
luckily it only took a week or so and thankful
i am in love
she works like a charm on our dirty exterior of our house
if brig would take longer naps, say 3-4 hours, i could get some serious washing done.

like really... my favorite purchase since my aluminum water bottle back in May
you can kind of tell from my face...

oh, and did you know we live on the runway of the sonoma county airport?
well underneath the flight path to get to the runway...
BUT i really think its really cool
like this weekend was the air show
we didn't have to leave the house
granted, maybe 3 days was enough air show for me
and brig and the dogs might not live through another fighter fly over
but all in all
we're awesome and so is our house

boy meets dog

see i told you brig discovered the dogs

whenever they walk by its eyes on them
anywhere they go

redford is curious and will give brig a lick or two before i catch him
he even has gotten close enough for brig to catch his ear with one of his death grips.
lucy still is keeping her distance
smart girl that she is

but really?
redford and brig are off to great start on their long road of love
redford is not even going to know how to contain himself when brig starts crawling and i start letting red kiss brig freely.
bottom line

4 years

hey you!

remember this?
i was so in love with you.
looking back i still don't know why i loved you so much. i just had to have you
really you weren't all that cool. you had those mutton chops and leprechaun shoes.
but for some reason, my world began and ended with you.

well guess what?

not much has changed.
i just know better what a catch i really got.

and look where we are now
....

i love you handsome man
happy 4 years!

its a birthday boy

can't you just tell you're thrilled to be 5 months old?
i really should probably stop calling every month your birthday but it is! every 22 of the month at 7:01 i just get the butterflies.
i need to do this again soon.
but not too soon.
your too much fun.

daddy sure thinks so

and you know how i feel about you
:)

i call these your grandma billie faces
who btw adores you
mostly because you adore her of course :)

they also remind me of a turtle

anyway... i sure love you baby boy
it's late and i am so slow at getting everything done
this post is already 1 day late
this month flew by and you had a lot more time kicking around on the floor or sitting in your chairs while i cleaned, packed, unpacked, painted, etc. you seem no worse for the wear though :)
actually you have developed a lot socially this month. you are a crazy smiler all day long. you like to make noises. you turn yourself in 360 when i put you on the floor. you have successfully rolled over from your tummy to your back umm 3 or 4 times? yeah not your strong suit....you love to stand and are getting really good at it where all you need is my finger to hold on to. you have discovered our dogs. you got your first cold :( but have finally kicked it i believe. i don't feel like you've grown much this month, your still fitting into all your 3-6 month clothes pretty good. i found the trick to stop you from crying in the car. i sing. hopefully no one other than you ever has to witness this :) you love my horrible singing voice though. you still like to eat in the middle of the night. you got way off your sleep schedule this month but i think we're reigning it in. oh, and i adore you.

happy 5 months mr brig !

and thank you for being the cutest thing alive.
it makes my life quite fantastic.
love,
mom

FOOD.

 yummay

my life is crazy right now. well mostly just covered in paint and poop. but i am adoring every minute. really. every night i go to bed i can't stop thinking about how much i love my boy. and every never ending step of painting is actually enjoyable to me because i finally have a house to paint! don't get me wrong i'm ready to be done with my current project and to get out of my mess but i am so enjoying this freedom to make my house mine. a place that makes me happy. anyway, that is partly why i have not updated. i have been up to my elbows in paint, taking care of baby who got his first cold, an annual clark reunion, and hosting enslaving visitors.

however, before this all occurred i did indeed get unpacked and took dr t's suggestion and offered our boy a little oatmeal.

he actually did really well.
no aversion but no real love either
but he does this leaning thing.
i'm not sure if it is a "i can't get to it" position or an "i'm not that strong"

so i fed him saturday morning and saturday evening then sunday rolled around and it was 9 am church and i had to rethink my rational for starting this food thing. nursing is so easy! food you have to prepare then he gets all icky and the rule of thumb is anywhere between 4-8 months right? so i stopped feeding him food. purely out of selfish reasons. and i think he really is ready. whenever he is sitting on my lap he just follows my fork.
so rude mom that i am... we're waiting till i am done painting our kitchen to really start this food business.

OUR baby

mom.....

or dad?

dad....

or mom?

i really think genetics are amazing
how did they make a baby that is such a unique mix of mom and dad?
sometimes i think brig is all me
like from the nose up
then other times i think he is all nate
like when he already has the same ear wax situation and fuzziness of nate
but truth is he is both of us
and safe to say we're both crazy about him
and maybe me a little bit more than nate :)

ps still unpacking.... but i've made some progress in the office area thus the post.
i finally have a printer! i can't believe i haven't had a printer for 2 years... running down to kinkos for every little office need sucked, $70 i am fully functioning and can finally scan photos!
