Vinezie

Venice was a bit of an ordeal for us... transportation was a nightmare, Venice is actually a giant canal. Yeah I know everyone knows that but it still very surprising getting off the train and just walking out onto a dock. We had no map or arrangements for getting to our hotel and the taxi was charging like 90 US dollars so we bought a map and took the bus and trekked luggage and all on the cobblestone, bridged roads to our hotel.

The Trattoria close to our hotel

Now we opted to take the bus everywhere but got a little confused and went around the whole island and got off in the only place you wouldn't want to go in Venice... basically industrial park. Nate had had it after that.

Murano behind me

This was really fun, they sale bird seeds in San Marco's Square to feed the pigeons and they just moll you.. Nate kept on quoting Home Alone at this time.

San Marco's square

This was the art piece I wanted to see most in Venice, the Tetrarchs... however it seemed I was the only ones people were just sitting on it and leaning up against it. It is on the SW corner of San Marco's

The oh so famous Rialto Bridge

This was Nate's favorite part of Venice... to his great surprise when we arrived he learned that the first ever casino was in Venice.... and of course had to go. It was actually really cool. You have to pay an entrance fee but our hotel had free tickets, you have to wear a sports coat and the security to get in was cool. But the actual casino was very surprising, it was really nice! No smoking, beautiful draperies and wood floors was great rugs. I felt really uncomfortable when we walked up to one table and they were playing with chips worth 1000 euros.

Our Vacation

We arrived in Florence late... and missed our private car so wound up taking a taxi

We loved our room in Florence and deemed it worthy for the blog.. isn't it swank?

Below is the Duomo

And the museum across the street from the Duomo (Museo dell'Opera del Duomo)

Its weird some museum are camera friendly... others aren't. This would be one of Michelangelo's Pieta's
My favorite Donatello, Mary Magdalene

Fake David... but still impressive

Hello Indy

So we settled a bit before we took off on our trip so this here is another virtual tour at

6530 Capricorn Dr. Apt#2713 (first floor)
Indianapolis, IN 46237

This is our new TV... we didn't have room to bring one and decided we could use a TV in our room so viola

It seems every house in Indianapolis backs a man made pond.. and with ponds come ducks and geese of which Lucy's favorite past time is chasing.
