Rome

This picture tells all. Nate felt terrible in Rome. He had terrible allergies the moment we got off the boat and they didn't subside till we got on the plane.... My poor sweet husband followed me around the whole marathon day in Rome. If I was a nice wife I'd of nursed his health all day. But hey, how often are you in Rome?

Now, we were only in Rome for one day so I made a priority list (Nate didn't really mind what we saw). But first on my list was the Sistine soo we got over there as early as we could... however it wasn't early enough cause we waited in line for 3 hours! It was a joke, but its something you have to see

St. Peter's Basilica

Michelangelo's Pieta (very poor lighting)

Baldacchino (It was actually kind of creepy)

Align CenterReally cute water fountains... I made Nate get a drink

Colosseum

And the other bits of the Roman Forum we saw

Pantheon

Mmmm we love gelato!

Fountain of Trevi

Play time on the Cruise

Our last formal night on the cruise

Now this is where it gets interesting. There was a quest game on our cruise... which means everyone got into teams and the cruise director give you "quests" that you perform then once performed you take your number to the director to record. There were 4 women and Nate on our team. There were about 70 teams. Now if anyone doesn't know Nate, he's a little competitive... ha ha

The Greek Isles

Or first stop

KORFU

Rocky Beach

KATAKOLON

Another rocky beach, this island is considered "the gateway to Olympia" it was about 30 min away from port and was very expensive to we opted for shopping and the rocky beach.

SANTORINI

This island was sweet, 600 steps up and you can either take a tram or a donkey. We did both. This island is a volcano island, sunken from volcanic activity many times. The locale of the supposed city of "Atlantis". Also thought to be the island where the Sirens lived and lured Odysseus in Homer's Odyssey. (Isn't history great)

We thought the donkey's were a fun idea until we jumped on and saw that is sheer animal cruelty and Nate's donkey almost underwent cardiac arrest. So when his donkey stopped for the hundredth time 100 steps away from the top we just got off and walked the rest the way.

Of course, the day after the jazz game the first thing we did when we got to the city we found an Internet cafe. Nate was very excited and very much wanted to hear the highlights while watching... the head phones didn't work however and his head was to big anyway... but he was not distracted from reading the articles to take off his ridiculous headphones.

Oh Yeah!!

The blue dome in the way way back ground is a signature church of Santorini. This is as close as we got.

They build houses into the caves and don't need air conditioning
