To Retire or not to Retire

I have seriously considered retiring my blog because I'm no good at updating anymore. I have conflicts because I store all our pics on my computer. Nate's computer lives on our desk at home and our wireless isn't working. So my computer's only activity now is note taking at school. You now see the conflict. If I blog at school that is definitely a depletion in my attention span. I mentioned this retirement plan to my Mom, she gave me the crazy elbow... So I will continue to blog... but please forgive the post gaps. I guess I will have to give up some attention from Sluglett's lectures on Colonialism in the Middle East... fiddlesticks!
I hate posts without pics so I pulled some from the archives
Come on anything with Smart I know you'll appreciate fam

Now that's a hot man... Check out those biceps!

One year?

Can anyone believe we've been married a year? I can't. Year one was such a roller coaster and having found myself a the one year mark I couldn't be more pleased! Oh what a nightmare or engagement was... I HATE looking back on it... But I couldn't find myself more happy. I love being married to Nate.
So for our anniversary we didn't want to do anything big after our summer away so we went to park city for an overnighter, just like out honeymoon last year.
We ate dinner at Purple Sage, which was Delicious (except for that ice cream cookie in the pic)
Opposed to what you thinking he was just testing the lighting on my camera
Of course we had to enjoy the festivities of PCMR!
That's right, I was born to destroy the Alpine Slide

And Nate was too, which is why it's such a good thing we got married!

Happy Birthday Coleen!

Coleen's birthday was this last week (also our first day back to school) so after class we met up with Coleen and JayDee for dinner at the Broiler
Me N8 Coleen & JayDee

My lovely in laws... its always a treat to hang out with them. Thank you Coleen for letting us celebrate your birthday with you!

Adam-Ondi-Ahman

I wanted to go here probably most... even though its just a bunch of land the whole idea is really cool to me and it was something I had to experience.
Welcome
This is the area you drive up to that has a little hike. The Hike leads to this opening and the piles of stone are supposed to be Nephite altars

Better look at the altars...
Me Lucy and the Grazing Cows in Adam-ondi-ahman

Nauvoo

Nauvoo.. it was a quick stop for us we drove through then stopped to look at the temple. It might be my new favorite temple..It is beautiful I wish we could have done a session... Next time I guess

Moroni
Nate and me in front of the Nauvoo temple
We haven't been in the car for six hours

They have this bronze of "Joseph's Last Ride", when Joseph and Hyrum rode past the temple on their way to Carthage. It's really beautiful and the back drop of both the temple to the east and the Missouri river to the west really is breathtaking. Lucy was invited in this pic cause as soon as she saw the bronze she started barking at the horses... at a closer look she decided they scared her.

A better pic of the bronze

Carthage Jail

We decided on our drive home from Indy that we would make a little church history road trip out of it.... well it was a good idea, however I don't recommend it if your 1500 miles from your destination with a dog and very anxious to get home. Carthage is just a little city in Illinois... Luckily the Church puts up bill boards for the sites when your in a 20 mile radius.
Really the church out does itself when it come to landscaping... isn't it beautiful?

The Carthage Jail. Unfortunately my camera battery died right after I took this pic... But that is THE window Joseph Smith jumped out of while being shot at.

Cubbies... Cubbies...Cubbies...

This was one of the more fun things we've done this summer. It's are second to last weekend in the Midwest so we decided we needed to make the 4 hour drive to Chicago to see the Cubs

Lovely skyline and Chicago traffic

Wrigley Field!
Some how Nate got the time of the game wrong so we were 2 1/2 hours early.... no prob ticks were tres cher at that time so we got pizza at the supposedly famous "Bacci Pizzeria"

The pizza had nothing on the good Italian stuff we've had this summer but it was sweet cause they were so huge!

View from our $85 seats

The ivy

We had driven to Chicago to get to the airport and on the speedway you can see the white sox field... cool but Wrigley field is in like the suburbs and their are houses all around with seating on the roofs! Ha you can actually buy tickets for the roof top seating

Soriano warming up before the game.... he's the only one I really knew playing.

Soriano up to bat... it was this run in which he got hurt on his way to 3rd

The Budweiser roof.... kind of a bad pic but its funny the whole roof is Budweiser. The guy next to me tried to tell me Budweiser pays 200,000 a year to the house to advertise. Who knows seems too steep?

Cheesecake

Well Friday was Mike's birthday so it was a good excuse for the office to go to dinner on Saturday (the office hasn't been beating their best week so we haven't been doing office dinners) We went to cheesecake factory at 11:30 wahoo! Nate and Me

Happy 28th !

Foundng Father or Nub?

I've had some insecurities with short hair for sometime now... it all roots for a very strange phase in my life when I forgot that as a girl, it is required to get yourself ready to look good... well at this same strange phase I had a haircut.... some new me with this cut some only have heard of the fabled doo.... I'll give a recap though.
At some point in Kennan's soul searching she thought hair was the answer so proceeded to apprentice at a hair salon. At this time I had a cute short A line but wanted to grow it out... So I told Kennan to cut all my layers to the same length so it would grow beautifully.... well she took me seriously... and I turned into George Washington

Paige Williams 2003

Very recently I chopped my hair again... some of that "don't get ready" resides in me today and the ponytail has often been the culprit. So now that my hair is short this "nub" is all I can pull off
Paige "nub" Clark 2007

So I ask you, what is worse Nub or Washington? Is short hair a bad idea for me in general?

Some one said its all happening at the lake... I do believe it

Part of the Annual Lagoon weekend consists of a day at the Pine View Lake. It's lots of sun, food, and blow up toys. This year its started a bit windy AND rainy but it cleared up after about an hour

Nate spends the ENTIRE time one the seadoo's.

Except of course for this small blurp in the mud

They get a boat every year too which is fun... not a LOT of wakeboarding mostly cruising around but the kids loved playing on it.

Okay so the kids loved the boat...Taylie ADORED the boat I think when it was beached she just stayed a float not to mention she loved driving the thing

Jayce and his beloved truck

Miss Karis and her cute butt

Minie you're in for a treat with feet like these

Miss Maggie Eliza Lundquist only about 2 weeks old!

Grammy and Maggie

Jayce and Misty... oh and of course the truck

We had two cabana's set up.... some nice shade (L-R: Ryan,Greg, Coleen and Maggie, Natalie)

The seadoo was enjoyed by many of the kids... you think wow two kids at once... Mike had three out at once with Ava driving

Aliyah in the beach fort

Karis and Goosey enjoying some cheeto's and girl time

Jon and Cass napping on the dry towels, in most of shade, and on some great toys. But could you disturb a nap like that?

By the end of the day this is how we all wound up
The men all up beach under the trees talking

And the girls all under the Cabana (except Nate we were nursing his injured toe)
