williams family weekend

brig and i are averaging 1 trip to utah a month right now...
*gulp*
anyway, the latest was the williams family weekend at midway.
it used to always be a jackson hole trip
and a few years ago we made the trip always over conference weekend.
but this year to save some $ and get more people there we decided to try midway.
few things we learned:
1. jackson is worth the $
2. conference and 12 grandkids, not so conference-y
3. we are tooo big for 1 house
but
it was still a fantastic trip!
anytime with family is good time, only by the time we all got warmed up it was time to go home :(

can i even say how much i love my family?
does everyone feel this way?
late night game playing, projecting, and caravan-ing all are my favorite things about family trips

in order:

.lunch.
we went to the dairy keen in heber in between saturday's session.
in my opinion? crappy food
except for the amazingly delicious orange sherbet

gil and jude are 'the' boys club
brig you already are an honorary member
gil said :)

these cute girls?
not invited in the boys club
minie often let's auntie robyn know so she can lay the law down

this one loves babies

the captain of the train

jude has a burning love for anything toy
....

.outing.
after the dairy keen and the events that went down there...
i guess there had to be some kind of familial blow-out?
the majorty of the group headed back to the house. nannie and us headed to the homestead with robyn and her group to check out what was going on.
(sans bob though, he had to take gil to the urgent care for his foot...crazy monkey bar climbing 4 year old)

a scarecrow festival was going on

robyn's group was appalled by this scene of a utah football player running for a touch down and killing byu. that was brig trying to make a "u" turns out its kind of hard on baby hands...

....

.activities.
we went on a lot of walks around the house on our stay.
this was saturday night.
when men go to priesthood ;)

the kids loved all the walks

these two? hilarious
fight.fight.fight.
in this particular case greta was throwing a tantrum and just sitting down.

brig you were happy to be walking too

.....

.projects.
our project for the weekend was to get our christmas vanilla made
check!
this is the best idea we williams women have come across.
fun, inexpensive gifts for christmas, completed in october?
genius.
this is how we do it:

lots of vanilla beans and vodka
(that's not even half the vodka we use)

then you cut the vanilla beans...

stuff the beans in the jars, then fill vodka to the rim.

shake once a week till christmas
check.

....

.cousins.
any family trip? worth anything for how much fun the cousins have.
brig, you pretty much were the hit. all the cousins found you quite entertaining.
if i sat you on the ground, you were immediately surrounded.
which you quite liked :)

this was your favorite to do with tucker...
grab his face, lean in, and... yell

lucky for you tucker liked it too

gwynie? she just likes to entertain you like she's a mommy.
however, sully is quite obviously her #1
but she did sing 'spooky loo' to you in the car to keep you awake.

minie and poppy maybe say your name my favorite way...
and i think most boy babies are 'brig' to them.

you were talking to her too.
made her laugh.

greta... loves "beeebee" lucky for her she will have one of her own quite soon.
but she was all about loving on you... maybe a little to roughly..

oh? and your best friend was there too... even though you don't play with each other yet
we're giving you plenty of time to get properly acquainted.
and i really can't believe what amazing lips my sisters babies have. how do you make those?
....
and that
was our midway weekend

phew....

Wow! Sweet re-cap. I owe you some pictures. "Briggy" is quite loved at this house.

I love your writing style, so signature Paige! Brig is making the best/cute faces these days. I'm with you on loving family time & heading up to Utah a lot.. My husband is getting sick of it, but it's hard living away from family, I'm sure even more in your case with a baby! Anyways I hope one of our trips coincides at some point!

Best review of the long week-end. And Brig may have been the most popular child there...no shortage of entertainment for him either. Miss you! XOXOX
