San Diego Day 2

Day 2 we decided to go to the Zoo... against Brooke's recommendation... and it was wonderful! We had such a fun time... I don't know what zoo Brooke went to.

Nate was super excited about the Gorillas.
Their hands are so cool and BIG
So similar to the sapiens... like Nate!
Birds in the trees

Flamingos, their pink cause they eat shrimp!

Da hippo

Our second hotel was right across from the port, so we got lunch from the Grotto again and walked along the maritime museum.
We had such a fun trip with everyone! Thank you thank you Mom and Dad, we love you!

Our happy ending!

So we got off the ship around 8... as usual. And our flight didn't leave till 6:30. We thought it sounded like a good idea, but we just wanted to go home. We rented a car and drove around and wound up at mission beach. So we walked around... a little to windy for any real beach doing, and we sat down to some yummy Greek food

Nate enjoying our lunch

After lunch we drove a bit more and shopped a bit more but wound up back at the airport 3 hours till our flight. While checking in, we were informed our flight was over booked and were offered flight vouchers and an extra day in San Diego. Long story short, we did so TWICE and wound up with 2 extra days in the sun and $1200 in airfare.

Our first room. The hotel was on Point Loma, it was beautiful
And our view from our room... yes that is the Elation pulling away.

Legends

Oh... while spending so much time in the karaoke lounge... Lisa made the legends show. Wound up kinda being a big deal.

Her Crew (she's Madonna)

My brother is a lucky man

Basketball at sea

Now this is a fun feature on the ship... although it's often busy. Bob my dad and Nate only got one game in... I'm sure if Brad were there they would have had many more and Nate would have been very happy. We missed Brad and Vanessa

The boys... and I think that old one on the right beat them both

Karaoke

Oh this was to much of our entertainment... I think the Karaoke lady had to be sick of our family, but we still had a blast singing and listening

Brooke and Kennan's BSB rendition was fabulous

Bryce did the honor of singing 2 songs for us... Johnny Cash and little Morrissey

Dustin did a little GNR in this position the whole time

Oh....

Dancing Queen

I told Brooke I was going to post these. As cruisers know, the dining staff sings and dances for you a few nights on the cruise. They always invite anyone who wants to join in, I've never known anyone to get up till now.

Brooke and Robyn doing the "funky dance"

The next night..... Brooke doing the macarena

This time she recruited Kennan.

So for the dancing queen Brooke, lovely dancing with Tibur.

Cabo again

Cabo is great.. it was warm, pretty beaches, and yummy tortas. Everyone seemed to have something different they wanted to do so we all went to the beach together then went our separate ways. I wanted to swim with the dolphins but wasn't thrilled about the price and going by myself so instead I had some good beach time. There are few things better than laying on the beach.

My mom me and Nate were the only ones who just stayed on the beach. So we indulged in some shopping... Thanks to Nate I have two new necklaces

Then we almost all bought hats

The seagulls wanted to hang out with us
Kennan and Trev took the jet ski out... what a woman eh?

My dad didn't bring a towel or swimsuit and was in a particularly funny mood in Cabo, and wound up trying to steal my moms towel. So that is why their sharing here

While we sat on the beach this is what Nate did the majority of the time.

He said he wanted a 1/2 hour but once it was over he thought it was so good he went for another 1/2 hour

ahmm....

Cruisin 08'

If you thought we had been on enough cruises you were wrong... we got another for Christmas. This was one was a bit different because we had to whole family but Nate and I agree, no cruises for a couple years for us.

Dinner the first night... with Kennans favorite pose, yes disgusting.
They had to split our group up into two tables so we switched seats every night and Robyn made her self accessible for every table.

Our fist day at see was fabulous! So much sun! So we all bathed in it.

Does this picture not remind anyone of our trip 13 years ago right after Bryce graduated?
Brooke and I even thought it was warm enough to go down the slide
Of course some cards were played
The only exception to the sun bathing was this peach and Nate. My dad just roamed around in his sweater listening to tunes and Nate found the playoff games much more interesting than the sun.
Formal Night.... so cute
All of us minus Dustin
The girls... however Mike took the picture so it's not so great
