King's Island

To break up the monotony of the summer Nate and I ventured down to Cincinnati to visit King's Island! It was quite a treat, 14 roller coaster all bigger and better than Lagoon's meager selection. My favorite was "The Beast" it just so happens that it is the LONGEST wooden roller coaster in the world. I don't know why, but there is just something about wooden roller coasters that is very scary.

So here is Nate before getting in line to ride historic "Beast"

And this is a stock photo of "The Beast"
Now for me, the games at amusement parks are the biggest wast of money. However, it is a total different story for Nate. It should be common knowledge that he is a master at the game formally known as "Wacky Wire". He takes much pride in this, matter of fact the first trip to Lagoon together he dazzled me with these skills and won me one of the largest stuffed animals in the park... and then later that evening instructed me to sit at the other side of the park and wait while he proceeded to the wacky wire booth and won the game incognito again (one is only allowed a prize if won once a year). In any event, King's Island's "Wacky Wire" was a little extra wacky and after $25 the master decided the life size spider man was not worth it and tried a different game. The different game was actually cool, it was a 3-point shot game on a half court with a score board and all. So Nate manned up, pulled out some gorilla shots and won a NC outdoor basketball. Pretty cool......

Really this was the only disappointment at King's Island... probably the coolest coaster was down. "Son of Beast" is the TALLEST wooden roller coaster in the world(218 ft). It was down from an injury the week before but you wouldn't believe the look of the thing... WOW
